FULL DAY KINDERGARTEN

Children who have completed one or two years of preschool and who will be 5 years of age in the fall may attend The Wetherill School Full-Day Kindergarten Program from 9:00-3:00 p.m., spending the morning reinforcing their learning and serving as role models in a mixed-age setting, while joining with a group of kindergarten-age peers each afternoon, experiencing the curriculum described above in PM kindergarten. Children who joined the Wetherill community as 3- or 4-year-olds will remain in the same class in the morning.

Lessons are presented in social studies, science, music and movement, and art, as well as lessons and activities to reinforce the numeracy and literacy skills that the children are beginning to master. Weekly nature/environmental lessons are conducted by a specialist from Riverbend Environmental Center. Curriculum-related field trips are an additional feature of our kindergarten enrichment program.
